Equalizing Dummy Valves BST's wireline retrievable equalizing dummies are designed to isolate communication between casing and tubing, but are also designed to equalize the casing and tubing pressure when the equalizing prong is retrieved by wireline. These valves have two sets of packing that straddle and pack off the casing ports in the mandrel pocket, and have integral top latches. In operation, once the equalizing dummy valve has been properly installed, a positive seal isolates communication between between casing and tubing, and the pocket seal bores are protected from erosion. To equalize casing/tubing pressure, a wireline trip is necessary to pull the equalizing prong. If desired, fluid can then be circulated before pulling the equalizing standing valve. A second wireline trip is necessary to pull the valve. EDV-1.0R is a 1" equalizing dummy valve. EDV-1.5R is a 1½" equalizing dummy valve. Features:
