Dummy Valves       

BST's wireline retrievable dummy valves are isolation devices that prevent communication between the tubing and the casing in a side pocket gas lift mandrel.  Each valve has two sets of packing which straddle and pack off the casing ports in the side pocket mandrel.  The valves are fixed in the pocket using wireline retrievable top latches.  Communication between the tubing and the casing is positively sealed off until the dummy valve is retrieved from the side pocket mandrel by standard wireline methods.

DV-1.0R is a 1" dummy valve.

DV-1.5R is a 1½" dummy valve.

Features:

•  Standard construction is 17-4 PH stainless steel, with monel or other premium materials optional.

•  Wireline retrievable by standard methods.

•  Use standard top latches.

Common uses for dummy valves:

•  To blank off the tubing while completing the well.

•  To blank off the tubing for production until gas lift valves are required.

•  To allow the tubing to be pressurized in various situations.

•  To isolate the tubing and casing during single alternative production sequences.

•  To isolate tubing and casing flow for test purposes during multi-point water flood or gas injection modes.
