Side pocket gas lift mandrels The highest design, engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance practices have been incorporated into all of BST's side pocket gas lift mandrels since BST's first high pressure (10,000 psi) mandrels were delivered to Otis/Halliburton in 1982. Engineering design is based on proven computer software developed at BST Lift Systems to ensure perfect fit, function, and strength parameters. Manufacturing is controlled by engineering drawings and written specifications. All completed mandrels are function tested with a valve and latch, and then hydrotested with the valve in place to ensure pocket seal and end connection thread integrity. GLM-1.0 is a basic oval side pocket mandrel with a 1" pocket, standard (API "S") porting from casing, with the BK-2 style latch profile, and without either a tool deflector or orienting sleeve. GLMA-1.0 is the same as GLM-1.0, except the tool deflector and orienting sleeve have been added. GLM-1.5 is a basic oval side pocket mandrel with a 1½" style pocket, standard (API "S") porting from casing, with the RA style latch profile, and without either a tool deflector or orienting sleeve. GLMGA-1.5 has a 1½" style pocket, standard (API "S") porting from casing, with the RK style latch profile, a tool deflector, and an orienting sleeve. Other porting (API "E," "C," or "W") is also available on special order. Standard API 5B EUE 8Rd end connection sizes are 2-3/8", 2-7/8", and 3½". Other thread styles and sizes are available on special order. Design and Construction Features:
