Equalizing Standing Valves

Equalizing standing valves are normally used in conjunction with seating nipples to prevent produced fluid in the tubing from being forced down into the well bore when high pressure gas is injected under a slug of fluid.  The pressure above and below the standing valve can be equalized by wireline to eliminate the need to pull a wet string of tubing.  BST manufactures standing valves in most of the popular sizes.

Features:

 Standard fishing neck sizes.

Can be equalized and retrieved by wireline.

Equalizing ports may be opened without lifting hydrostatic head.

May be used as a test plug to test tubing leaks above the valve.

Standard valve material is 17-4 PH stainless steel, with monel and other premium materials optional.

440C stainless steel balls are standard, with tungsten carbide optional for severe service in sandy wells.
